Oswego State women’s soccer has had a strong start to their season. In nonconference play, the Lakers are 2-1-1. Junior forward Katie Delgrosso is leading the team with two goals so far this season. Delgrosso also recorded one assist during the Lakers’ 4-1 win against SUNY Canton, which is the only assist the Lakers have recorded so far this season.
In their most recent matchup, women’s soccer fell short against Hamilton College. On Sept. 12, Hamilton traveled to Oswego and beat Oswego by a score of 2-0. Junior goalkeeper Perri Anderson faced 15 shots, eight of them on target. Anderson recorded her season high of five saves during the Lakers’ loss.
On Saturday, Sept. 16, the Lakers will face off against St. Lawrence University in yet another nonconference game. Oswego women’s soccer will have their first SUNYAC matchup on Sept. 23, versus SUNY Potsdam. SUNYAC competition will begin soon. These last couple of nonconference matches will be used to better prepare the Lakers for conference play.
