Laker Quick Recap: Women’s hockey vs. Plattsburgh State (NEWHL Championship)
In the NEWHL Championship game, the Oswego State Lakers lost to the Plattsburgh State Cardinals 6-1. Oswego State will end its season with a record of 16-7-4, while the Cardinals will advance to the NCAA tournament with a record of 26-1-0.

- Oswego State had a power play just six seconds into the frame after Hannah Kiraly took an early penalty, but could not generate much offense.
- At 7:52 on the first shot of the day for the Lakers, Philomena Teggart fired a slap shot from center point and scored top shelf on Davis.
- Roughly two minutes later at 10:23, Kaitlin Drew-Mead drove to the net and scored off of a rebound to tie the game 1-1.

2nd Period
- Emily Gustafson walked in the slot for a great chance with 5:18 gone in the frame, but Davis snagged it with a quick glove stop.
- Plattsburgh State took a 3-1 lead on a powerplay goal by Nicole Unsworth at 7:06 of the period, after her shot from inside the faceoff circle trickled under the arm of Farmer.
- Katonka had a great opportunity alone in the slot with 8:22 down in the period but her one-timer was stopped and held by Farmer.
- Megan Teachout and Erin McArdle were each given offsetting minors after a slight scrum in front of the Plattsburgh State net with 13:30 elapsed in the frame.
- Plattsburgh State took a 4-1 lead at 15:39 of the period after Kiraly put a loose puck home, just sneaking it past Farmer.

- Five minutes into the period, Plattsburgh State extended the lead to 5-1 after Taylor Whitney finished a two-on-one off a feed from Boric.
- Oswego State had 23 seconds of five-on-three time with 12 minutes left in the game, after penalties to Sarah Wolf and Kiraly but could not convert.
- Plattsburgh State made it 6-1 at 16:15 of the period, when Katonka beat Farmer with a wrister in the slot.
- Plattsburgh State wins its third consecutive NEWHL Championship and earns an automatic bid to the NCAA Tournament. It has won all three championships since the league was established prior to the 2017-18 season.
