In the Oswego State men’s hockey team’s Senior Night, the Lakers beatSUNY Fredonia 4-1. Oswego State now improve to 14-9-1 (11-3-1 SUNYAC) while the Blue Devils are now 7-11-7 (4-9-3 SUNYAC).
Pre-game
- David Richer got the nod in net to start on his Senior Night against the Blue Devils. His last start at MCC was against the University of New England in January.
- Anton Rosen started his second game of the weekend for SUNY Fredonia. He came into the game with a 5-6-4 overall record.

2nd Period
- Chandler Judd tied the game up with 17:39 remaining in the period after tapping in a rebound off the pad of David Richer. The goal was unassisted.
- At 7:58, the first penalty of the game was committed, with Mitch Emerson getting called for cross checking. Lakers to the penalty kill for the first time. The penalty was killed.
- With 11:36 remaining in the period, Ethan Kirbis was called for roughing, ending the Blue Devils’ power play, sending play to four-on-four hockey. Oswego State could not score on the 20-second power play.
- With six minutes left in the period, Anders Johnson was called for tripping sending the Lakers back to the power play. After a waved-off goal and a huge cross-ice save by Anton Rosen, the penalty was killed.
- Jacob Haynes was called for roughing at 19:43 of the second period after shoving Tyson Kirkby to the ice. Oswego State returned to the power play but could not convert in the first 17 seconds of the man-advantage.

- Oswego State started the third period on the power play for 1:43 after the Haynes roughing call. The remainder of the penalty was killed.
- Anthony Passero took a slap shot from the blue line after the power play ended and rang it off the post past Anton Rosen with 18:15 remaining in the third period. Assists to Tyler Currie and Tyson Kirkby. 2-1 Oswego State.
- Victor Tracy was called for holding against Travis Broughman with 15:24 remaining in the third period. Oswego State returned to the man-advantage. The penalty was killed with no goal allowed.
- Jody Sullivan was called for interference at 6:42 of the regulation period, sending SUNY Fredonia to the power play. Oswego State killed the penalty.
- With 9:48 remaining in the period, Josh Zizek was called for cross-checking sending the Blue Devils back to the power play. The Lakers killed the penalty.
- Josh Zizek got a one-timer from Travis Broughman with 2:48 remaining in the period. 3-1 Lakers.
- Also with 2:48 remaining, Rosen was replaced by Ryan Pascarella following the goal.
- At 17:54, Michael Gillespie was called for unsportsmanlike conduct, giving the Blue Devils yet another power play.
- Ryan Pascarella was pulled at 17:54 to give SUNY Fredonia an extra attacker.
- With 1:10 to go in the period, Tyler Riter was called for slashing. Ryan Pascarella was sent back to the net since puck drop was in the Blue Devils’ zone. Timeout, SUNY Fredonia.
- Pascarella was pulled with 1:03 remaining in the period for the extra skater.
- Josh Zizek put the game out of reach with his second goal of the game with the empty-net goal with 8.1 seconds left in the period.
- FINAL: Oswego State wins this one 4-1 over SUNY Fredonia.
Post-game
- Following the game, Oswego State is now 14-9-1 (11-3-1 SUNYAC) and will wait to see who its opponent is for the SUNYAC Semifinals next Saturday, Feb. 29. The opponent will be determined on Wednesday night.
- SUNY Fredonia now sits at 7-11-7 (4-9-3 SUNYAC) and is eliminated from the SUNYAC playoffs.
