Disney+ finally releases, has numerous classics

Do you love Disney, Pixar, Marvel, Star Wars, National Geographic and 20th Century Fox? Starting on Nov. 12 fans were be able to purchase a subscription to Disney+, the new rival of Netflix. Will fans cancel their Netflix memberships to be only a Disney+ member, or will they keep them both, even though they are competitors? Although it is called Disney+, the streaming services has a wide variety of movies, TV shows, and more. So what’s all the hype about Disney+?

Commercials have been aired on Freeform and other network channels to get the word out about this subscription. Disney+ is an on-demand and ad-free streaming service newly created by The Walt Disney Company. With Disney+, subscribers can watch thousands of Disney, Pixar, Marvel and “Star Wars” movies. Fans can also watch their favorite TV series from any device: smart TVs, phones, laptops, tablets and gaming consoles. The new service includes unlimited downloads so fans can watch anywhere.

“Jurassic Park” fans will be excited to hear that Jeff Goldblum (Dr. Ian Malcolm) is signed up to be the host of a new docuseries for National Geographic on Disney+. Disney is also going to be showing something with real-world information and facts, and this will include TV dramas. Another feature is the availability of all 30 seasons of “The Simpsons” from the first day Disney+ is launched. Fans are also getting hyped for the upcoming Star WarsTV show, “The Mandalorian,” which will be one of the shows on Disney+, as well as another show that is planned and related to the “Star Wars” movies. Fans will need to wait to view the second one because it is not coming out until 2021.

The best thing about Disney+ is that it is only $6.99 a month. Fans who do not like when Disney hides movies from the public have probably heard of a place called the Disney vault. Disney vault is where Disney keeps the movies that are not currently on sale. For example, Disney may release a movie for a short time only and then Disney puts it in its “vault” for what could be a long time.  Disney has announced that all of the films that used to be in their vault will be available to the subscribers of Disney+. They have said that these movies will not be accessible on any other streaming service, making Disney+ unique.

After Disney+ is released, what will happen to the cable providers? Cable subscribers have been declining over the years, but some people still like to use cable because it is easy. The television business has seen cable and satellite providers losing millions of customers to streaming services like Netflix and Hulu, but people who do not know much about these streaming options may be staying in their comfort zone with cable.  Customers who are brave enough to cut the cable wire can probably save money and access most content, but it is not free either. This new way of accessing your shows and movies usually involves using multiple services at a time and paying for all of them. Walt Disney may have the answer. By offering this streaming bundle that costs so little that people will not care if they have to give up some of their favorite shows or learn a new technology to flip through channels.
