Lakers Game Day Preview at Cortland

Conference Opener

Tonights contest between Oswego State and SUNY Cortland will mark the beginning of the SUNYAC schedule for both teams. The Lakers defeated the Red Dragons in both games they played against each other last season.

Important Injury

Oswego State captain Mitch Herlihey will be out tonight due to an injury sustained in last weekends 2-1 loss to Hobart College. It is unclear how much time the senior will miss.

Players to Watch

OSW- Aaron Huffnagle

Tonight will be the first time this season that Huffnagle cracks the lineup. After a promising freshman season that saw the Marlboro, New Jersey, native collect six points, it will be interesting to see if he will be able to utilize this opportunity tonight to see some ice time.

COR- Drew Weigman

After posting a lowly .871 save percentage and a 4.06 GAA through two games, Weigman will be looking to rise to the occasion and shut the door against a ranked opponent in Oswego State.

Opportunity

After being scratched for the first two games, Huffnagle and Trent Durocher will see the ice tonight. Listed on the fourth line together, the pair will be motivated to make some noise and solidify a spot in the lineup going forward.

The injury to Herlihey opened up a spot in the lineup for a new face to step in, and that is where Huffnagle and Durocher step in. David Ferreira is also scratched tonight. Defensively, the six remain the same as they were last weekend against Hobart College. Richer will also get the nod in net tonight, continuing the rotation.
