Gameday in Oswego, New York is bringing all the fans to the Max Ziel gymnasium to see the Lakers take on SUNY Canton in the championship game of their tournament run. The Lakers touched triple digits yesterday with a 104-68 victory over SUNY Maritime. Oswego State have not reached a 100 points in a game since the year 2000 when a game against Potsdam went into double overtime. The Lakers continue to be led by their star guard Brian Sortino who continues to perform like a first team All-SUNYAC member. Sortino leads the team so far in points and assists per game, averaging 21 points and four assists. Top rebounder Mykelle Krecko looks to stay big down low and dominate the boards with his big body standing tall at almost seven feet. They look to continue to utilize the three ball as that has shown as their most dominant aspect of their game. Coach Leone stresses ball movement to find the open man and they have done just that in their opening two games. SUNY Canton are coming off a 85-76 win yesterday against Elmira as they lookto continue their strong run of good basketball. All eyes are on the championship game today as the Lakers look to start with some momentum in their young season.
