The Oswego State women’s lacrosse team fell to the reigning National champions today. SUNY Cortland defeated the Lakers by a score of 19-10 in Friday’s game in Cortland. The Red Dragons will now be moving on to face The College at Brockport in the SUNYAC Finals.

Oswego State mounted a late comeback but fell short at the hands of Ashley Gentile and SUNY Cortland. Gentile buried seven goals in the winning effort. Tara Monaghan put up five goals of her own.

Oswego State was led by Emily Lange and Gemma O’Kane. Each scored three goals a piece in Oswego State’s season ending defeat. Lange scored her 100th and 101st career goal for the Lakers.

Angela Ponto did all she could to keep the Lakers afloat. She recorded a career-high saves against the No. 1 seeded Red Dragons. Jaclyn Beshlian stopped 11 shots in the victory.

SUNY Cortland will take on Brockport Saturday at 12 p.m. to try to win another SUNYAC championship.
