In a game where the Oswego State Lakers needed to bounce back, they did just that. The Lakers were the better team almost the entire game and came out on top by a score of 4-1.
Oswego State came out fast and put up two goals before the ten minute mark of the first. The Lakers dominated most of the first period but Morrisville State had their chances despite not leading in puck possession time.
Andrea Noss found Alyssa Brockmann who was open in the high slot and beat Pincheon for the first goal of the game at the 3:23 mark of the first.
Olivia Ellis got back on the score sheet as she took a cross ice pass on the door step from Alexa Aramburu to put the Lakers up 2-0. Amy Templeman was credited with the secondary assist on that marker.
Morrisville State didn’t roll over though as they were able to find the back of the net once before the end of the period. The puck was deflected in front by Ciara Lark and trickled across the goal line. Kelley Graham and Stephanie Strymecki were credited with the assists.
The middle frame brought one goal and it was on a wrap around chance for the Oswego State Lakers. A scrum in front and loose puck on the side of the net found Andrea Noss who scored on the wrap around chance as Taylor Pincheon let in her third goal at the 4:17 mark of the second. Renee Schmaltz replaced Pincheon in net for the remainder of night after this goal.
At the end of 40 minutes the Lakers led 3-1 but were down 15-13 on the shot chart.
