Laker Gameday Preview: Men’s Soccer Vs. SUNY Geneseo

The Oswego State Men’s Soccer team will look to get their first win in three weeks as they welcome the SUNY Geneseo Knights at Laker Turf Stadium.

The Lakers have struggled the last two weekends on the road, losing all four conference matchups to fall to the bottom of the SUNYAC.

With a record of 4-7-1, the Lakers playoff hopes will look slimmer by the game unless they pick up victories at home.

The last game the Lakers played at home was on September 26th on alumni weekend where they defeated SUNY New Paltz on a last minute winning goal. Since then, in the Lakers four losses they have conceded ten goals while scoring only three.

The Geneseo Knights enter this game with an overall 6-5-3 record, but with a 1-4 conference record that puts them just above the last place Lakers. They will be looking to improve their conference record as they make a playoff push.

The offense for the Lakers has become stagnant, but will look to gain scoring form by relying on their young crop of talent in players like Conor Lunduski and Bernard Osei.
