Oswego State – The Oswego State volleyball team has seen two of its best seasons in back-to-back years, after struggling for much of the past decade. With 20 and 19 wins, in 2014 and 2013, respectively, the Lakers look to continue their dominance in non-conference play. While the team is still developing on defense, it is a force on offense and will need to use its aggressiveness to its advantage.
Pittsburgh-Bradford – Despite owning a winning record in the Allegheny Mountain College Conference (AMCC), the University of Pittsburgh-Bradford had a poor out of conference record, leading to an 11-23 overall record. With a strong group of sophomores and juniors on the roster, the Panthers have room to continue to improve and this tournament would be an auspicious time to start off strong.
Scranton University – After a down year in 2013, the Scranton Royals returned strong in 2014, finishing with a 23-11 record. A historically successful team, the Royals will need to improve their record away from home this season, which was only two games above .500. Despite having mostly underclassmen on the roster last year, they achieved success early and will look for it to continue.
Anna Maria College – After a period of time when the Amcats could not win more than 10 games in a season, Anna Maria College continues to grow closer to getting above the .500 mark. After improving their record once again last season to 13-15, this may finally be the year that Samantha Shomo, in her fifth year, leads the Amcats to a winning record. She will have a handful of seniors on the roster to work with, but with only one junior on the team, Demi Carrero, the team will look to the deep freshman and sophomore classes to make a big impact.
