Laker Gameday Preview: Dec. 5 v. SUNY Fredonia

The Oswego State women’s basketball team will be playing in its first SUNYAC game of the season on Friday night against the SUNY Fredonia Blue Devils in Max Ziel Gymnasium at Laker Hall.

Oswego State comes into the game trying to stop its current two-game losing streak, which has it sitting at 1-3 on the season. Its most recent loss came in a tight contest at Houghton College on Tuesday night, 65-58. Freshman Rachael Windhausen had 23 points and nine rebounds in the game.

The Blue Devils come into the game with a 2-2 record after a big win over Alfred University. Five players for the Blue Devils scored in double figures, while also totaling 56 rebounds in the game.

The Lakers have won their last three home games against SUNY Fredonia, while losing their last three on the road. In their last meeting, SUNY Fredonia won, 89-78. Oswego State holds the advantage over the past 10 meetings, winning six of them. In that contest, Oswego State was led by Heather Hebert with 15 points and 11 rebounds as SUNY Fredonia was led by Alexis Cheatham with 17 points and 10 assists.

The leading scorer for Oswego State coming into the game is  Windhausen who is averaging 15.5 points per game along with 9.3 rebounds per game. Windhausen will have a tough match up in the post as the Blue Devils Sabrina Macauley is 22nd in the nation for defensive rebounding.

The leading scorer for SUNY Fredonia coming into the game is Alexis Cheatham at 15.8 points per game.

The Lakers and Blue Devils will tip off at 7:30 p.m.
