Sunday, Nov. 9th marked the first on campus “packing party” for Operation Christmas Child. The Operation Christmas Child packing party ended up going off without a hitch. With Christmas music filling the air, it would have been very difficult to walk out of the Marano Campus Center without a smile on your face.
For each box that was packed, there was a certain sex and age range that you would have to choose from; participants then packed their box with items that were marked with this criterion.
After exceeding the goal of boxes to be packed, WTOP-10 TV’s Public Relations Manager Kalie Hudson, who helped set up the event, expressed her appreciation for the involvement various clubs and organizations gave by attending. The over 800 boxes that were packed will be distributed by Samaritan’s Purse, a non-profit organization.
Looking forward, Hudson hopes to start a tradition and keep the event on campus for years to come.
