What’s happening this weekend in Oswego (April 4-6):
Chicken BBQ & Silent Auction: The Oswego Community Christian School is holding a fundraising event at the Oswego Elk Lodge #271 at 135 West 5th St. on Saturday April 5, from 12-4 p.m. Lunch will be served at noon, and the silent auction bidding will commence at 1 p.m.; while the live auction starts at 2:30 p.m. The items that are being auctioned have all been donated. Make sure you come to eat some lunch and baked goods at what is described as one of Oswego’s top fundraising events.
2014 Polar Plunge: Take a plunge into Lake Ontario in support of our local special olympic athletes, on this Saturday April 8, at 1 p.m. Registration/ Check-In is from 11 a.m.- 12:45 p.m. You also may bring any cash or check donations to the event in to raise money for the athletes. The plunge is at Wrights Landing Marina, located at 21 Lake St.
Allure: Battle of Designers Fashion Show: “Battle of Designers” will be hosted by the African Student Organization on Friday April 4, from 6 p.m.- 10 p.m. Held in Hewitt Ballroom, this is their first annual fashion show. Seeing that it is their 10 year anniversary, the group wanted to start a tradition within the organization that puts the spotlight on youthful upcoming designers. Doors will open at 5 p.m. and the event will feature DJ Tunez, and the A’won Boys.
Oswego State men’s baseball game: Laker baseball will be playing against New Paltz at 7:30 p.m. on April 4. This will be held on the Laker Baseball Field. It is free of charge, so come and support Oswego State Baseball.
Oswego State men’s lacrosse game: Men’s lacrosse will be playing against Brockport at 7:30 p.m. on April 4. This will be held on the South Athletic Field. Come and support Oswego State Lacrosse, it’s free of charge.
Oswego State women’s lacrosse game: Women’s lacrosse will be playing against Cortland at 1:00 p.m. on April 5. This will be held on the South Athletic Field.
Spring Carnival: Oswego State will be holding a spring carnival on April 5 from 3 p.m. to 7 p.m. in the Hewitt Ballroom. The spring carnival includes food, games, prizes, and live music. There will be a musical guest appearance by Julia Weldon. Parking is $5. For additional information, call 312-2955.
