Creative Writing: Birth by Protest

What’s a life compared to lifetime?

Can it be thrown away without a thought until it reaches a second trimester?

There’s no real way to distinguish between the two if we don’t consult an “expert.”

We debate and argue, but no one can ask the real person of interest.

With no voice to speak, how can we yell their stance with picket signs and aggressive protest rhymes?

Pain, sacrifice and a human life all hang in the balance,

And, with that said, it all comes down to men and women wearing business attire and blue ties.

We can’t really ask, “Do you want to live a life?”

Though the real question is, when it comes to a human life who are we, the living, to deny this?
