BASKETBALL:
The top four seeds all advanced to a much anticipated final four after the Supersonics held off The Jellyfish, 55-52. The Supersonics took a 14-point lead into the half before Joe Hulbert found his three-point stroke in the second stanza. Hulbert had a chance to tie it in the final seconds, before passing out to a teammate whose shot fell just short.
The Supersonics then fell to the Lee Hall Legends in the semifinals, who are looking to repeat, after its fall league championship. The Legends will meet the 518 Ballers, who disposed of Beach Season, 48-38.
BROOMBALL:
Richie Santini scored two goals in the final minute on his way to a hat trick for team Gamma, who defeated Ryan & The Boys, 4-2. The Rolltiders used a late goal from Paul Harnish to squeak past the Ninjas.
In the men’s division, Anne Frank’s Army shutout Derek’s Boys, 5-0, and the Derpsicles edged the Performance Enhancers, 6-2.
INDOOR SOCCER:
Caitlin Dabkowski netted four goals for team Pickles in a 7-6 win over Broneida on her way to earning Campus Recreation Player of the Week while Matthew Kelly scored five of the six Zeta Beta Tau goals in a tie against Cosby Kids.
Impressive individual efforts also came from John Mackie, who scored four times for Rush Hour in a 10-2 win against Basketball and Jenna Chewens, who tallied four goals for Team Bomb Squad.
VOLLEYBALL:
Volleyball opened with the Sharks knocking off Bear Cubs, 2-1, and Studioslooze shutting out the Rolltiders, 3-0.
