The Lakers scored twice in the first 1:34 of the game and never looked back, scoring seven unanswered goals in a 7-1 victory over the College at Brockport at the Campus Center Ice Arena. Oswego State’s Jon Whitelaw scored twice and goaltender Dan Jones made 27 saves in his first appearance in net for the Lakers this season. The Lakers outshot the Golden Eagles 50-28, including 38-15 in the final two periods. Oswego State broke the game open with four goals in the third period, two on the power play, to improve to 3-0-0 in SUNYAC play. Brockport finished 0-for-7 on the power play, dropping to 0-3-1 in SUNYAC.
Buffalo State Bengals 7 Morrisville State Mustangs 2

The Bengals scored their first two goals on the power play en route to a 7-2 blowout of Morrisville at the Iceplex. Buffalo State finished 3-for-8 on the power play and Justin Knee and Michael Connolly each scored twice. Buffalo State goalie Kevin Carr made 31 saves, while Christopher Azzano made 36 saves for the Mustangs in a losing effort. Todd Hosmer scored both goals for the Mustangs. The Mustangs hurt themselves with penalties, committing eight infractions for 16 minutes. Buffalo State scored four times in the second period and outshot the Mustangs 20-11 in the frame. The win moves the Bengals to 2-1-0 in SUNYAC. The Mustangs drop to 1-3-0 in SUNYAC.
Geneseo Ice Knights 4, Cortland Red Dragons 2

SUNY Geneseo scored the first three goals of the game, with Carson Schell tallying the eventual game-winning goal at 19:18 of the second period to give the Ice Knights a 3-0 lead. The Red Dragons scored the next two goals, capped off by a shorthanded goal by Stephen Nardi at 8:31 of the third period. The Ice Knights would register a shorthanded goal of their own at 16:41 on a goal by Clint Olson to seal the victory for Geneseo. The win for Geneseo keeps them on pace with Oswego State for the SUNYAC lead with six points at 3-1-0 in SUNYAC. The loss drops to 1-2-0 in SUNYAC.
Plattsburgh Cardinals 4, Potsdam Bears 1
SUNY Plattsburgh’s Vick Schlueter netted two goals for the Cardinals, including the game-winning goal at 19:03 of the first period and a power-play goal at 3:06 of the second period. The Plattsburgh defense limited the Bears to just 21 shots, including just three shots in the third period. Potsdam’s Adam Place scored the Bears’ only goal at 17:40 of the third period to stave off a shutout. The Cardinals outshot the Bears 41-21. The Cardinals committed just two penalties all game, and killed off both penalties. Plattsburgh improved to 2-0-0 in SUNYAC, while the loss drops the Bears to 0-2-0 in SUNYAC.
