Campus Recreation Report

"The stage was set Sunday night in the Ice Arena as teams faced off for the first round of the intramural broomball playoffs. Each game was close up until the final whistle, with three out of the five games played only seeing one goal. Players continued their push towards the playoffs in floor hockey, basketball, and badminton.

" On the ice, Chris Scotto di Carlo didn’t give up any goals for 5yr Olds With Sticks in their game against No Name Just Game. Nick Ibarluzea scored the game winning goal to push 5yr Olds With Sticks to the next round, with a final score of 1-0. Snipe City took on Rocket Power in the closest game of the night. Rocket Power’s defense created a formidable match against Snipe City’s technically savvy offense. With no goals in regulation, the teams went on to sudden-death overtime. Taking the ball out of his defensive zone, Snipe City’s Chris Galante rushed through the offensive zone, splitting two defenders and beating Rocket Power’s goalie to win the game, with a final score of 1-0.

" The top teams of the floor hockey league, Baylis Stars and Swamp People, squared off on Thursday, Nov. 11. In this back and forth contest, Eric Zerrahn notched a hat trick to help Swamp People earn their 6-5 victory, which puts them on top of their division with a 4-1 record.

" In Lee Gym, TJ Stanton’s accuracy from behind the arc helped his co-rec team, Floweasy, defeat Run DRC 62-46. Stanton was also a major contributor to his men’s team’s victories over WX, White Chocolate, and Swagger.

" On the badminton courts, Paloma defeated SWAT in a close match in the singles league, with a final score of 2-1. In the doubles league, Winners defeated Wowza 2-0.
