The American Marketing Association presents the Battle of the Bands 2010 on Thursday, March 4. Doors open at 6:15 p.m. and music is scheduled to begin at 6:30 p.m. in the Hewitt Union Ballroom.
Six local bands will be battling it out for the chance to perform a pre-show outside of the Campus Center before the Spring Concert on April 10.
Among the performing are Last Call for Sunset, Saving Fairview, Roman Revival, A is for Arson, and Dreams From Gin.
At the event, campus organizations will be giving away promotional items and food will be provided by local businesses for concert goers. A preview of each band’s music is available on their MySpace pages.
Door tickets cost $3. Every person in attendance has the opportunity to win door prizes all night long, which includes T-shirts, gift certificates from local businesses and other prizes.
Sponsors include local and national businesses, along with Oswego State’s own Pathfinder Bank.
Correction
An earlier headline incorrectly stated that the Battle of the Bands winner would then open for the Goo Goo Dolls in concert on April 10. The Battle of the Bands is not affiliated in anyway with SAPB or the spring concert. "The Rocket Summit" will be the official opener to the concert, taking the stage at 8 p.m. April 10.
