In true Hollywood fashion, an image was created and, with the use of a public relations team, it was marketed. A star, candidate Barack Obama, was born. He didn’t have potential voters, he had fans. However, not everyone was fooled. While you were caught up in the glitz and glamour, and the chanting and cheering, Obama outlined in his speeches exactly what he would do if elected. You shouldn’t be surprised that he has nationalized a good chunk of the private sector under the guise of bailouts, loans and stimulus spending. Obama’s plan is to transform our nation into a totalitarian regime.
In a town hall-style speech, Obama said, "We are five days away from transforming this nation." And so it began. In order to establish totalitarian type rule, government and society need to be entwined. We see this with the legislation that is being put forward. Health care is a prime example; any opposition is demonized, labeled or stifled. Only Obama knows what’s best for us. Another characteristic is to have only one political party, hence the pressure we see in congress for bipartisanship.
In order for totalitarian rule to be implemented, there is a key factor that needs to be present: strict governmental control over the media. Obama has the media in his pocket; they have been fawning over him from the start. However, Fox News and conservative radio has been a problem for Obama. That is why Obama declared war on Fox. We see the reintroduction of the fairness doctrine in congress. Obama is now trying to control the Internet. Think about it, the control of communication is power.
A totalitarian government encourages its people to rely on the government to improve their lives. The government is looked upon as a parent figure. There is a deep devotion to the leader, almost cult-like. Have you noticed all the YouTube videos of school children singing songs of praise for Obama in public schools? It’s creepy. People who are under this type of rule depend on the government to provide jobs and housing, among other things; in exchange, the government only asks that you volunteer your time to the community. The government has control over access to education, reproductive freedoms, health care and a number of other aspects that affect society. Does any of this ring a bell? Descent is not tolerated in a totalitarian government. Often, those who oppose just simply disappear.
Sometimes it takes an outside view in order to prove a point. In April of 2009, an article written by Stanislav Mishin in the Russian publication Pravda, entitled, "American Capitalism Gone with a Whimper," talks about the fall of capitalism and the rise of Marxism in the U.S. He tells of the warning from Prime Minister Putin to Obama not to follow this path. It is an eye-opening piece and should be read by every American.
We are not yet a totalitarian nation, but we are headed in that direction. Terrorism, the economy, global warming and swine flu are just a few of the fears that this administration is using to their advantage. Fear is always a good motivator; when people in a society are fearful they will give up freedom for security.
Our government is out of control and needs to be reined in. Legislation that is unconstitutional is being pushed through congress and bills that haven’t been written yet are being voted on. Lies and half-truths are being echoed as news throughout the media. American citizens are being singled out and ridiculed, sometimes beaten for their opinion, like the tea party people. Our representatives in congress are not listening to the people. Those in congress, as well as Obama, swore an oath to uphold and defend the constitution. Clearly they’re not. This is treason. As Thomas Jefferson advised, "When the people fear their government, there is tyranny; when the government fears the people, there is liberty."
